The Mercer Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Linn County Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mercer will be strutting in after a victory while Linn County will be coming in after a defeat.
Mercer scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Tri-County 61-47. That 61-47 margin sets a new team best for Mercer this season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Linn County, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 71-26 loss at the hands of Meadville. While losing is never fun, Linn County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while Meadville is ranked 193rd).
The victory makes it two in a row for Mercer and bumps their season record up to 2-2. As for Linn County, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Mercer didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Linn County when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 52-47 victory. Will Mercer repeat their success, or does Linn County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
