It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Chatham Charter had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Gates County Red Barons 7-0. Considering the Knights have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Chatham Charter's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jace Young, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Another was Tyner Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Chatham Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Gates County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
