The King-Chavez Community Lions lost against the San Diego Academy Cavaliers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. King-Chavez Community took a hard 44-29 fall against San Diego Academy. King-Chavez Community has not had much luck with San Diego Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Diego Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rudy Nieto, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jason Love, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
King-Chavez Community's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.5 points per game. King-Chavez Community will be playing at home against Monarch at 3:45 a.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Monarch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Thursday. Mountain Empire will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something San Diego Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
