Wolfe City came into Saturday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over the Avery Bulldogs on Saturday. Considering the Wolves have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Evie Sample looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sydnee Tomiello, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Andrea Medina, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Wolfe City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .611. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Wolfe City's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Avery, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
