The Midland Christian Mustangs and the Grace Community Cougars squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Midland Christian Mustangs had to settle for second. Midland Christian took a 33-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grace Community. Midland Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grace Community apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Midland Christian had strong showings from Brylee Perez, who gained 186 total yards and two touchdowns, and Colton Newsom, who rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
Midland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Grace Community, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Midland Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Grace Community will face off against Liberty Christian at TBD on Saturday. Liberty Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
