If the Wicomico Indians were feeling good off their 90-47 takedown of the Chincoteague Ponies on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wicomico's tough 63-39 defeat to Decatur on Monday might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wicomico has scored all season.
Decatur's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Careen Bolden led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Bolden set a new season high mark in steals with five. The team also got some help courtesy of Trybe Wise, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Wicomico's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-6. As for Decatur, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wicomico will take on Bennett at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Bennett focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday. As for Decatur, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Parkside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
