After a string of three wins, Madison County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Athens Academy Spartans. If the Red Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Spartans when the teams met back in October of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Madison County was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Athens Academy work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 26-24.
Lexie Tucker paced Madison County's offense, picking up eight kills. Tucker got some help from Allie Adams and her 14 assists.
Madison County now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Athens Academy, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-7.
