The Oakland-Craig Knights were the 59-55 winner over the West Point-Beemer Cadets when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Oakland-Craig took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Point-Beemer on Friday.
Oakland-Craig lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Braylon Anderson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaak Maxwell, who scored ten points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Colten Haber, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds for West Point-Beemer. Hunter Swanson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Oakland-Craig's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for West Point-Beemer, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Oakland-Craig and Lyons-Decatur Northeast will face off at 3:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Oakland-Craig focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for West Point-Beemer, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tekamah-Herman at 2:30 p.m. on February 10th. Tekamah-Herman is coming into the game with six straight defeats on the road, meaning West Point-Beemer will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
