Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Flatirons Academy walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles on Friday as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Bison might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by nine runs or more this season.
Parker Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Flatirons Academy let Braxton Kelley and Noah Evans run wild. Kelley went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Evans went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Kelley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Conner Odell, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs.
Flatirons Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rocky Mountain Lutheran only posted an OBP of .167.
Flatirons Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Rocky Mountain Lutheran, their record now sits at 9-6.
