After a string of four wins, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ponca. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bradyn Urwiler, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for Urwiler. Gibson Roberts was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Even though Plainview has not done well against Madison recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Plainview had just enough and edged Madison out 56-53. The victory was just what Plainview needed coming off of a 51-30 loss in their prior game.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-1. As for Plainview, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.
Everything went Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's way against Plainview when the teams last played back in January as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge made off with a 56-33 win.
