Tri-Valley recap Oct. 3, 2012
Williams Valley extended the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley this week by beating Halifax, 24-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Vikings.
Tri-Valley moved up to 251 from 277 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of a 54-21 win over Upper Dauphin Area.
The Trojans' dynamic duo of Austin Weaver and Trey Campbell proved tough for Tri-Valley to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Weaver threw for 52 yards and Campbell had 48 yards receiving. Tanner Miller helped Upper Dauphin Area's passing attack out by catching one ball for two yards.
Neil Bodley was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 139 yards on 18 carries as Juniata lost to Mike Kogut's team. Teammate Chad Eberle added to the ground attack by rushing for 72 yards.
Williams Valley's Stephen Sedesse and Owen Daniel have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Tri-Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Sedesse has thrown for 577 yards this season, while Daniel, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 26 catches for 413 yards. The Bulldogs' Blake Bowman leads the league in rushing yards with 797.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Indians take on Brent Bell's team. Juniata's offense has racked up 173 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Trojans have allowed only 172 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Tri-Valley takes on Millersburg. The Bulldogs are currently in second, while the Indians are in fifth.
Gary Klingensmith's team took down East Juniata 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bodley threw for eight yards in the win.
