The Billings Senior Broncs will venture away from home to face off against the Belgrade Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Billings Senior comes in on six and Belgrade on three.
On Saturday, Billings Senior beat Gallatin 12-7.
Billings Senior let Viennah Meyer and Madi Ban run wild. Meyer went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Ban went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Ivy Runsabove was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Billings Senior was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Belgrade made easy work of Great Falls on Saturday and carried off an 11-1 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.
Krissy Carrillo was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Main, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Belgrade pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Billings Senior, their record now sits at 8-1.
Both Billings Senior and Belgrade just can't seem to miss. The Broncs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Belgrade struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Billings Senior couldn't quite get it done against Belgrade in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 9-5. Can the Broncs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
