Canyon View will be up against a hot Delta team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Rabbits came out on top against Wayne by a score of 10-7 on Tuesday.
Fallon Johnson was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Elcie Shurtz, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Canyon View made easy work of Juab on Tuesday and carried off a 16-7 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Maisy Brady made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 12 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Canyon View got a massive performance out of Sadie Sams, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Haiden McDonald was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Delta's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Canyon View, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Delta hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Canyon View struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
