Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Elwood Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 65-16 loss at the hands of the Panthers. Elwood's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it nine in a row.
It was another big night for Sophia Morrison, who scored 25 points along with six steals for Eastbrook. Another player making a difference was Olivia Howell, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Elwood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season. As for Eastbrook, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.
Elwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eastbrook's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Argylls at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Madison-Grant focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Thursday.
