Monta Vista won against Lynbrook last Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Matadors walked away with an 11-6 win over the Gunderson Grizzlies. This was payback for the Matadors, who suffered a 17-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Mikey Owings and Avyan Mahajan did most of the damage at the plate: Owings scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-5, while Mahajan scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Monta Vista is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Gunderson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monta Vista will face off against Harbor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Gunderson, they will take on James Lick at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.89 runs per game on average), something the Grizzlies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
