Kora Rodichok made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Tri-Valley let Olivia Witmer and Cassi Snyder run wild. Witmer went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run, while Snyder went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Snyder has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Alina Leonard, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Tri-Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marian Catholic only posted an OBP of .143.
Meanwhile, Holy Cross had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Blue Devils.
AVA SCHMIDT was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on PEYTON GRABOSKE, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was LILA KOLCHARNO, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Tri-Valley's record is now 18-6. As for Holy Cross, their record now sits at 20-1.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tri-Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .396. However, it's not like Holy Cross struggles in that department as they've averaged .414. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
