If Chase wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Draughn, they should've done a better job of containing Macy Auton. The Wildcats blew past the Trojans 3-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Auton, who had 17 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season.

Draughn was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-18, 25-17.

Chase's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Byrd, who had 19 digs, and MyleeKaye Fincher, who had four aces and three digs.

Draughn is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Chase, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Draughn has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Newton-Conover on the 15th. As for Chase, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against East Henderson on the 13th.
