The Manheim Central Barons will head out to square off against the Solanco Golden Mules at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
On Friday, Manheim Central came up short against Manheim Township and fell 8-5. The Barons have struggled against the Blue Streaks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Paige Garner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
Garner wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Manheim Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Solanco waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Black Knights as they made off with a 16-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Golden Mules, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Ava Martin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Martin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Delaney Gote was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Ava Fedoruk was another key player, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5.
Solanco's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Manheim Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Manheim Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Solanco struggles in that department as they've averaged .457. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
