There's no place like home for the Alexander Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 61-55 win over Newnan on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alexander to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nimah Ibidunni, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. Isabella Italiano was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Alexander is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Newnan, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Alexander will challenge Douglas County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newnan, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against New Manchester at 6:00 p.m. New Manchester has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 306 points over their last five contests.
