Canton Central Catholic dropped their record down to 9-12 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Dalton Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.
As for Dalton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 5th.
For Dalton's part, Mei Simmons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 15 Ks. Simmons has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Arabella Wenger was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
