B-G-M had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Montezuma Braves. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in June of 2025.

B-G-M's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Montezuma, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. B-G-M is set to take on their familiar foe Lynnville-Sully at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.6, the Hawks 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Montezuma will face off against rival Iowa Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
