The Jonesboro Eagles are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Robert Lee Steers at 7:30 p.m. on November 9th. One thing working in Jonesboro's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last eight matchups.
Jonesboro put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season last Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Evant 62-6 on the road. Given Jonesboro's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Evant is ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jacob Cisneros, who threw for 49 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. DeMarcus Acoff was in the mix too, providing Jonesboro with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Robert Lee stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard two weeks ago. They blew past Eden 66-18 at home. With Robert Lee ahead 38-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Jonesboro's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Robert Lee, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
