Mount View was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Summit Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Golden Knights blew past the Falcons 18-8. Considering the Golden Knights have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jackson Rose made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Mount View's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 6-7-1 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyrece Hughes, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.
