Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Linnea Ekbom, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ekbom has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lillian Morrisey, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Schaeffer Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Lanesboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Schaeffer Academy will head out on the road to take on Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons is ranked 353rd, while Schaeffer Academy is ranked 334th). Lanesboro won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rushford-Peterson at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Rushford-Peterson is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
