The Wardlaw Academy Patriots will be playing at home against the Faith Christian Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Wardlaw Academy faced King Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wardlaw Academy blew past King Academy 44-6 on the road.
Colt Bailey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 143 yards and four touchdowns on only five carries. Bailey was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Addison Faust made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Faith Christian on the road against Conway Christian on Friday as the squad secured a 46-8 victory. The victory was just what Faith Christian needed coming off of a 48-14 defeat in their prior game.
Wardlaw Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-9 Newberry Academy and 2-6 Andrew Jackson Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 28.3% over those games). As for Faith Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Wardlaw Academy might still be hurting after the 40-16 loss they got from Faith Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will Wardlaw Academy have more luck at home instead of on the road?
