They claimed a resounding 77-49 victory over Ahoskie Christian at home. Winning may never get old, but New Life Academy sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
New Life Academy was led to victory by Dontrel Lee and Jordan Dunn. Lee scored 21 points, while Dunn scored 28 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Dunn has scored at least a third of New Life Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Blake Winslow, who scored nine points.
When it comes to explaining why Ahoskie Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyler Berryman. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 40.8% of Ahoskie Christian's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Noah Knowles was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
New Life Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.6 points per game. As for Ahoskie Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.
New Life Academy will head out on the road to challenge Victory Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ahoskie Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Heritage Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th.
