The Mullen Broncos are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Paxton Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on December 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Mullen is ranked 187th, while Paxton is ranked 186th).
Last Friday, Mullen was able to grind out a solid win over Cody-Kilgore, taking the game 34-27. The victory was just what Mullen needed coming off of a 51-21 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Paxton took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-22 win over Maxwell.
Maddex McConnell and Josh Eakins were among the main playmakers for Paxton as the former scored 15 points along with six rebounds and the latter scored 12 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that McConnell scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Hebblethwaite, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
The win got Mullen back to even at 2-2. As for Paxton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Mullen came up short against Paxton when the teams last played back in February, falling 48-38. Can Mullen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
