The Northeastern Clinton Cougars will head out on the road to  take on  the AuSable Valley Patriots at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Both teams come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 While Cougars fans will have to keep waiting for their  team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's  season opener. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Beekmantown  on Tuesday and snuck past  2-1.
 AuSable Valley never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Moriah on Thursday. They blew past the Vikings 10-4.
  Laina Jennings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Annika LaMountain was a standout: she scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Addie Stanley, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.
