The Waukon Indians entered their tilt with the Houston Hurricanes with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Waukon enjoyed a cozy 70-55 win over Houston on Thursday. Waukon's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Houston lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Avery Kingsley, who scored 20 points. Kingsley is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Botcher, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
The win got Waukon back to even at 6-6. As for Houston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
Waukon will be playing in front of their home fans against New Hampton at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Houston, they will head out on the road to square off against LeRoy-Ostrander at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. LeRoy-Ostrander is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
