The North Buncombe Black Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season. They really took it to North Henderson for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-29 victory on the road. With that win, North Buncombe brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
North Buncombe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Edmonds Gracie led the charge by scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Gracie scored 15 or more points. Kadence Penley was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
North Henderson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leah Jones, who scored seven points along with four steals.
North Henderson struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The win (which was North Buncombe's sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for North Henderson, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Coincidentally, North Buncombe and North Henderson will both be playing West Henderson the next time they take the court. North Henderson will host West Henderson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while North Buncombe will host them at 6:00 p.m. on December 23rd.
