Baseball Recap: Carl Hayden Community Finds Home Field Redemption Against Camelback

There's no place like home for Carl Hayden Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Camelback Spartans with a sharp 15-0 win on Thursday. While the Falcons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Eric Mendez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Cristian Rosas was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Irvin Tacho, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Carl Hayden Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Carl Hayden Community's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Camelback, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
