North Star waltzed into their matchup on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Glenns Ferry Pilots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-4 back in March.

Cole Young and Luke Fox made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Young didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. Meanwhile, Fox tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Young has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Young scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances, while Fox scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Teague Fox, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

North Star pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Glenns Ferry, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Star will face off against Idaho City at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Glenns Ferry, they will take on Lighthouse Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pilots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 12.4 runs per game this season.
