Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Severance

Severance entered their tilt with Greeley Central on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats an 18-0 shutout. Considering the Silver Knights have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brady Iversen made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Matthews, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dom Torres, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Severance hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeley Central struck out nine times.

Severance's record is now 12-5. As for Greeley Central, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
