Baseball Recap: Arcadia Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

The Arcadia Titans beat the Goldwater Bulldogs 8-5 on Friday.

LJ Donahue and Hank Jensen did most of the damage at the plate: Donahue went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Jensen scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. Those three RBI gave Donahue a new career-high. Carlo Valdez-Tavera was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Arcadia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goldwater only posted a batting average of .125.

Arcadia's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-12. As for Goldwater, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcadia will challenge Saguaro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans are facing the Sabercats at the right time seeing as the Sabercats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Goldwater, they will face off against Shadow Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Matadors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.38 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
