The Colonel Crawford Eagles will face off against the Upper Sandusky Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colonel Crawford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Colonel Crawford barely beat Plymouth the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Big Red get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Big Red recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Peyton Rowlinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Colonel Crawford got a massive performance out of Aubrey Betts, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Olivia Friley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
Colonel Crawford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Upper Sandusky scored first but ultimately less than Carey in their match on Monday. They fell 6-3 to the Blue Devils. The contest marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Ella Frombaugh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Upper Sandusky saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addy Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Colonel Crawford now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Upper Sandusky, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Upper Sandusky's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Colonel Crawford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game.
