On Friday, The Legacy Lightning faced the Eaglecrest Raptors in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Legacy strolled past Eaglecrest with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. This was payback for Legacy, who suffered a 34-31 loss the last time these two teams met.
Legacy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Anderson out in front who rushed for 193 yards and a touchdown. Omari Bursey also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Legacy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Bursey and his two sacks.
Legacy's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Eaglecrest, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-4.
Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eaglecrest also has no future games currently scheduled.
