6A Region 1 Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Kj Lacey Turns in Season-Best Performance
Saraland was led to victory by Kj Lacey, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Lacey threw for 233 yards and six touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. The effort also marked the most rushing yards (16) he has had since back in September of 2023.
Lacey will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Theodore on Friday. The Spartans got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Bobcats, probably because Lacey had a solid game then too: he threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Crishon Overton Delivers Best Performance of Season
On Friday, Theodore got the W thanks in part to Crishon Overton playing the best football he has all season. Overton rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 41 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
The win (which was Theodore's third in a row) raised their record to 4-4. Overton will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Saraland on Friday.
