The Fairfield Falcons will be taking part in a tournament against the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fairfield has six straight victories, Tippecanoe Valley has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Fairfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Prairie Heights with a sharp 14-3 win on Thursday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Hunter Kauffman made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Drew Beachy was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Fairfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Tippecanoe Valley came up short against Glenn on Friday, falling 14-2.
Tippecanoe Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Alderfer, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.
Fairfield took their win against Tippecanoe Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
