Given Cupertino's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Saratoga is ranked 585th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cupertino's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Soham Nighojkar led the charge by scoring 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Justin Yu, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Cupertino's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Saratoga, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Cupertino will head out on the road to take on Homestead at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Homestead will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Saratoga, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lynbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lynbrook is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
