Baseball Recap: Timber Creek Extends Winning Streak to Three

Timber Creek waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Keller Central Chargers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 last Tuesday.

Cayden Sowden tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Talan Sullivan was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zack Wanoreck, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Timber Creek's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Keller Central, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-10-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Timber Creek is set to face off against their familiar foe Southlake Carroll at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Timber Creek 1.7, Southlake Carroll 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Keller Central will take on rival Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on April 1.
