Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 12 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Tippecanoe Red Devils proved on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 67-35 win over Piqua at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tippecanoe.
Tippecanoe found their leader in underclassman CJ Bailey, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 2 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Sivon, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
Despite the loss, Piqua still got an impressive performance from Drake Owen, who scored 12 points.
Tippecanoe's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Piqua, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tippecanoe will square off against Troy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Piqua, they will head out on the road to face off against Stebbins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
