Baseball Recap: UME Preparatory Academy Takes a Loss

UME Preparatory Academy blew Varsity Opponent out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Varsity Opponent got their revenge. UME Preparatory Academy fell just short of Varsity Opponent by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the EAGLES have suffered since March 28, 2024.

Joe Sanchez and Kaden Phelps stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sanchez scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Phelps scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Phelps a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Juarez, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for UME Preparatory Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-18-1.
