The Noblesville L Lions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Middletown Christian 12-6. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Noblesville L came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 312th in Indiana, while Middletown Christian is ranked 697th in Ohio).
Joey Young threw for 26 yards on two of seven attempts. Nick Wheeler was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Jack Lear rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Middletown Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julianye Johnson, who gained 110 total yards and a touchdown. Middletown Christian also got a significant boost from Logan Mason, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
Noblesville L's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.0 points per game. As for Middletown Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Noblesville L does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Middletown Christian is also done with their season.
