There's no place like home for the Hale Cardinals, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They took down Meadville 73-57 on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Gauge Shiflett and Donivan Schreckhise certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Shiflett scored 15 points along with two steals, while Schreckhise dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Quentyn Smith was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Hale's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Meadville, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hale will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Red Birds at 7:30 p.m. on February 15th. As for Meadville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
