After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tahoma, the Kennedy Catholic Lancers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They skirted past Mt. Rainier 39-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Kennedy Catholic has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kennedy Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kathryn Schroeder, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals. Schroeder continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Barbus, who scored five points.
Kennedy Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Mt. Rainier, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy Catholic will take on Kentridge at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kentridge is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Mt. Rainier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Federal Way at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Federal Way has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
