Softball Recap: Rancho Verde Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Rancho Verde entered their tilt with Lakeside on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Lancers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mustangs have posted against the Lancers since March 14, 2019.

Isabelle Sena made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaylen Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Khylee Dade, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Rancho Verde kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive matches.

Rancho Verde's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That lines up perfectly with their 4-12 record this season.
