St. Edward suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the victim of a rough 64-43 defeat at the hands of Fullerton. St. Edward has struggled against Fullerton recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Anthony Reader put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 23 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 53.5% of St. Edward's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Diego Herrera-frias was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, St. Francis had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 win over Riverside.
St. Edward's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for St. Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
St. Edward took a serious blow against St. Francis when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 69-24. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point St. Edward was down 42-13.
