The Madill Wildcats won the last time they faced the Plainview Indians, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Madill walked away with a 48-35 win over Plainview. Given Madill's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Plainview is ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ethan Wilkerson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Madill's points. Mason Roberts was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Madill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for Plainview, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Madill is on the road again on Friday and plays Byng at 8:00 p.m. on February 9th. Byng will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Madill surely won't give up without a fight. As for Plainview, they will be playing at home against Marietta at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Marietta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
