On Friday, The Arcata Tigers got themselves on the board against the Hoopa Valley Warriors, but the Hoopa Valley Warriors never followed suit. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 33-0 win over the Warriors. The victory was nothing new for Arcata as they're now sitting on four straight.
Luke Lemke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Lemke's longest rush was for an incredible 92 yards. Lennon Gieder did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 96 receiving yards.
Arcata is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Hoopa Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcata will face off against Ferndale at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ferndale is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Hoopa Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against McKinleyville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McKinleyville is on a three-game streak of home losses, Hoopa Valley a five-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
