North Canyon posted their biggest victory yet this season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Mountain 69-28 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-9.
North Canyon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Mackay, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Mackay is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Sowunmi, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Fairfax scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Sierra Linda, posting a 87-42 victory at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fairfax.
North Canyon pushed their record up to 9-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 49.33 points. As for Fairfax, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11.
North Canyon strolled past Fairfax in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 73-54. Will North Canyon repeat their success, or does Fairfax have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
